Speedlink V32/2011, Bing SEO, Google Plus, Blogging, WordPress And DMOZ

Hi everyone! I am sure that it is not news to you that Steve Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple. The man is a myth and has surely earned a place in history. Google on the other hand, continues on pushing the use of its +1, announcing changes that make +1 even more useful or nearly a must (see below). From authorship markup to the new +snippets integrated into the +1 button with inline annotations, this is something you should really pay attention too, as I am convinced that this will play a very important role for SEO in the near future. Have you verified your authorship markup and installed your new +1 button yet?

As usual, in no particular order:

Blogging/WordPress

SEO/Marketing

Social Web/Other Stuff

What role does being in DMOZ play in rankings?

That’s it! Enjoy and have a great week ahead. On a side note, for those of you that are on the East Coast of the US, be safe.

  • Great shares! I like the video by Cutts, I hadn’t seen that one before.

    What’s your thoughts on DMOZ?

    • DMOZ is old but I think still counts in certain occasions like Matt said. I actually don’t know if they are still updating the open directory project. Been trying to get in there for a while now and no luck. One thing is for sure, if you are there, it is better than those who are not πŸ™‚

  • Hi DiTesco,
That’s a very bad to listen Steve resigned Apple.Google not compromise on the quality of Google + and day by day updates of Google + enhanced its more functionality.I hope soon it give a full furnished and more power solution for social networking world.

    • Hi Zarah. Yeah, Steve has been going into some sort of health problems apparently, and I think it is the main reason why he stepped down. We’ll see how the new chief will handle with the companies destiny πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by

  • Really nice collection. The video with Matt Cutts is really nice. It sort of confirmed what I was thinking … DMOZ is dead.

  • I still see people that want to get into DMOZ pretty bad. There are probably people that still get into the directory, but I don’t know anyone that got listed. I kind of gave up on it along time ago. Nice to hear about it from Matt Cutts rather than just guessing though.

  • I was a bit worried for Apple when Steve Jobs resigned, he really took Apple to a whole new level. Did you know that around 50% of the web traffic in the country are from iPhone users? Those are mind-boggling numbers.

Getting back on topic, you’re right the +1 will have a huge effect in page ranking in the near future. The ones that will benefits most from it are big companies, and that might just make it so much harder for small business owners to compete.
