Quick SEO Tips, WP Plugin Dangers, Domain Redirects, Speedlink 13:2014

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great and productive week. With all the things that has been going on lately on Google’s continued crackdown on webspam, the “remove links” craze and making use of the disavow tool has reached to a point where it is close to being ridiculous. From “algorithmic” penalties, to using the disavow links tool, Cutts has been giving advice and tips one after the other. Here are some:

The latest on the disavow links tool:

On inbound.org, a very interesting discussion came up of which I would be very interested in knowing what you think about redirecting a penalized site to a competitors site. Do you think it works?

  • I understand what Matt is saying about not deleting an old or already existing disavow file, but that part where he says: “Which creates two emails” confuses me.

The inbound . org question about redirecting a penalized site to a competitors site is an interesting question. I never thought about that one. Hopefully, Google has though, or at least they will now.

I’ll tell you all this penalty stuff is becoming just too much to keep up with anymore. The average person or site owner is not going to know about most of these things. By the time some do realize they should, it might be too late. I try to follow what Google is doing, but I am sure I miss quite a few updates and things too.

  • Hey DiTesco,

Nice post . The conversation is really strange to me . Actually I am not using social media too much .

  • With the continued rise in people emailing me asking me to delete links I receive more and more threats of being submitted to the disavow tool like it will kill my site. I wish more people would be aware that my blogs are NOFOLLOW and submitting my sites to the disavow tool will have ABSOLUTELY no effect on my site at all.

I charge a fee to remove multiple links, especially if the person has paid someone to spam my blogs in comments, why should I clear up their mess for free when they paid someone to create the mess?
